About AAM

Our Mission statement

Our mission at Animal Activism Mentorship (AAM) is to educate and inspire our fellow humans to take action and equip them with what they need to fight for animal liberation.

When someone is compelled to start their activism journey, they often don’t know where to begin. AAM is here to encourage them, guide them, and lay a strong foundation on which their activism will stand for years to come.

We believe that inviting more people into the animal rights space and showing them a sustainable path to lifelong activism is essential to achieving animal liberation. By providing access to resources, knowledge, and community support, we become a launchpad for those who want to go to work for our nonhuman neighbors. We believe that by providing free and accessible education, one-on-one mentorship, and in-person events, we can create a powerful and effective community of animal activists who will work together to create lasting change for animals.

We do not believe in a one-size-fits-all approach, which is why we cater to individuals. We help people who are new to the movement discover and utilize their unique skill sets and talents. We help people who have been fighting for a while, but now feel lost, find their way. We strive to create an inclusive environment where activists can thrive and be valued and empowered.

Through this kind of mentorship, we have created a powerful and effective community of animal activists who continue to grow and work together to create lasting change for animals.

AAM Policies for Collaborations

AAM often collaborates with other organizations and individuals to host in-person or online events. Each activist who participates in an AAM event must adhere to our policies.

One-on-one mentorship

At the core of AAM is our one-on-one mentorship program. Mentees are paired with experienced and dedicated animal rights mentors to help them gain the knowledge, experience, skills, and confidence necessary to start advocating for animals.

How to get started:

  1. Apply to AAM using the Mentee Application Form
  2. Once you apply, we will look at your answers and choose the right mentor for you! (check out our “mentors” page to view our list of trusted animal rights mentors).
  3. Once a mentor is selected for you, we will have them reach out to you and begin the mentorship!

What to expect:

Once you have gotten paired with your mentor, the 3-month long mentorship will begin.

Your mentor will help you recognize and work to overcome your obstacles. As well as assist you with setting and accomplishing animal rights goals.

Our mentors will help you to identify your existing skillset and how you can best use your existing skills to help the animals. Of course, they will also help to push you out of your comfort zone so you can grow to be the best animal advocate possible.
